Top cutting edge also sharpened approximately 3 inches. 4 3/4"-5" leather handle. Brass double hilt. Duralumin butt cap. This is the knife made famous by Allied combat troops in World War II and since widely used in all theaters of war. Commando shaped, straight handle, as illustrated on model 2, available at no extra charge. (wt. 8-10 oz.) My summary: my oh my... this package is just plain gorgeous. The knife is pristine -- the custom riveted sheath simply divine. C'mon... what more could you want? is a detailed description as to what you're looking at: Randall Model 1 "Fighting Knife" with an 8" tool steel blade, double brass hilt, custom black and brass spacers, single finger grip burgundy micarta handle and a brass butt cap. If you're a fan of burgundy micarta and the single fingered grip handles... this one should have you squirming in your chair. The knife is in mint condition -- I'll remove any fingerprints prior to packing. The sheath is a custom brown riveted Sullivan model C made by Greg Gutcher. (if you're unfamiliar with the name... he's the factory authorized sheath maker for Randall Made Knives) Make no mistake about it: this is one very good looking and expensive sheath. The sheath is in mint condition -- the knife has been fitted to but not stored inside. No handling to speak of -- t is a new plain salmon stone in the pouch. Once again: brand new / mint condition. The knife will be packed well and shipped "out of sheath" in a custom 17" green canvas and Cape Buffalo hide carry case. I've just fallen in love with these cases as they're very durable and compliment most any package. In my opinion... a superb upgrade to the standard Randall carry case. Please have a look at the 12 photos below -- the close up shots should eliminate any guesswork. Some will say that the Randall Model 1 is the knife that put Randall on the map. No surprise t: take a look at this 8" fighting blade -- it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out what it was made for. This is a spectacular offering without any wait whatsoever -- a custom knife, sheath and carry case that will compliment most any knife collection. Good luck.
