You are bidding on a rare, original manufacturer's/contractor's model of the proposed but never built Lockheed L-1011-600 "Bistar", aka "Dash 600", a twin engined version of the L-1011-500 Tristar, made for Lockheed by Space Models in England about 25 years ago. Span is >8 1/2" and it sits, on its removeable stand, 5 7/8" high to tip of the fin. Scale is 1:200 and it appears to be made of one piece injection-molded plastic. The stand is plastic with a metal upright, aluminum plaque and felt-covered bottom. It does not swivel. Condition is excellent with decal loss confined to tiny areas on the nose (port side) and mid-ship blue stripe (both sides), and top of windshield (port side). The Dash 600 was to be powered by two RB.211-524B-02 engines, and carry 175-200 pax 2000-2700 miles. One wonders if Lockheed hadn't chosen Rolls Royce engines and the Tristar had been more successful, how would it've affected the sales of the DC-10, and the Bistar affected the 737. But as my dad used to say, "if my aunt had ....., she'd have been my uncle". (Forgive the blurred photos - my autofocus camera often focuses on only one part of the plane.)
