This is a beautiful Loetz carneol bowl that was designed as part of the marmorierte-glas series in the 1880s. The bowl has marbled swirls of dark pink on light pink. Gold gilt designs, accented with white enamel dots, are painted on the four lobes of the bowl, as well as on the four inward folds. The glass is in excellent condition, with no chips, breaks, or scratches. T is some loss of gold, but it is in excellent condition for a bowl of this age. The base has a gold embossed mark: "I/3" that was probably made by the person who decorated the bowl. The bowl is 8" long and 7 1/2" wide. It stands about 2 1/2" tall.
