This is the original one sheet (27”x41”) movie poster from the 1962 film “Lolita”, based on the Nabokov novel. One of the most beautiful and iconic film posters of modern times, “Lolita” does not come up for auction that often. The poster is unrestored and folded and in good to very good condition. The poster has some fold wear, light wrinkles, splits on the top fold edges, and a 2 1/2" closed tear, extending down from the beginning “L” in Lolita, that I didn’t notice until describing. Overall the paper is in nice condition, and the colors are strong. The poster does have some lightish pink stains in the area of the top fold (starting about 2” to 3” above Lolita’s eyebrows in two areas), and on the bottom 1/3 rd of the poster to the left of L olita’s tongue and lollipop. The stains are quite apparent when the poster is held up in the sun, however, in most positions, or when the poster is backed with something, the stains are not that apparent on the poster as a whole. This is still a beautiful poster; it is displayable as is, and can be restored to top condition at some point in time. I will be listing more top titles this week, so please check my other auctions.
