A unique opportunity to purchase a sequential pair (62 and 63) of copper lamps used by London Fire Brigade probably attached to a street Escape ladder. Not to be confused with the far more common Shand Mason, Merryweather or John Morris lamps of similar construction. This particular lamp, number 63 , is missing its wick winder although the brass tank filler remains in situ. The rear face of the lamp has small 3/16"dia hole and a brass strap which while not original has been in situ for some considerable time and would be unsightly if removed. This lamp is in very good overall condition bearing in mind it is almost 150 years old and weighs in at almost 2.5kgs is an original measuring 12" tall to the top of the handle, 6" wide and 5" deep. I have owned this lamp for several years and have been fortunate to find another pair. This lamp is being sold individually to enable anyone with a single lamp to make up a pair. Please see my lamp number 63 being sold elsewhere on eBay. The winning bidder is welcome to collect in person from Swindon. Any questions please ask through eBay Good luck with your bidding
