You are looking at a 2000 Longaberger Collectors Club Miniature Bread & Milk Basket Set & Milk Pitcher ! This set was only available to Collectors Club members and is the fifth edition of the J. W. Collection Miniatures which began in 1996. This edition was introduced in January 2000. All pieces are in Perfect Condition and includes the original boxes, pottery pitcher, basket, product card, liner and bag, protector, and Certificate of Authenticity. With its petite 6" x 3 1/4" x 4 3/8" size, the miniature version of the Bread and Milk Basket is an adorable replica of the full-size original. The tiny, signature blue accent weaves are just 1/4" and 1/8" wide, the hardwood stationary handle is gracefully curved, and the basket carries its own special, commemorative brass tag. These miniatures are quite labor intensive. Its intricacy and difficulty level requires that only the best weavers handcraft these!

When the day's basic food staples ran low, Dresden families grabbed one of J.W. Longaberger's narrow yet deep Bread and Milk Baskets, placed it between the front seats of the car and headed for the market. J.W. had created this practical solution by cutting the form for his Market Basket in half. Sturdy and easy to carry, this inventive design easily handled milk bottles and loaves of bread!

The Longaberger Miniature Milk Pitcher is made of the same beautiful vitrified china as its full-size counterpart, making it dishwasher, microwave, freezer, and oven safe.

The whole set has only been displayed in a china hutch in my smoke-free home.
