2000 Collectors Club Founder's Market Basket Set (Classic Stain Basket, Woodcrafts Woven Lid, Certificate of Authenticity and Original Box included) Signed on bottom in person by Tami Longaberger. This beautiful market basket measures 15" x 10" x 7.5". The Certificate of Authenticity reads in part.... "The Founder's Market Basket is a tribute to our father's personal touch, unique style and family heritage. Dad grew up with his father's Market Basket, and it became his favorite. The braided trim strip and open-weave bottom of the Founder's Market Basket were also features of J.W. Longaberger's early baskets. Dad himself helped develop the Stairstep Weaving on the basket and lid - an unusual and stunning pattern of narrow weaves and upsplints. Each weaver has carefully and thoughtfully created and signed this beautiful work of art. To complete the collectible, we have burned into the bottom of each basket a personal tribute, "To Dad with Love," along with our burned-in signatures. It is our desire that through this very special basket, Dad's legacy of hope and hard work will be remembered for generations to come." The Founder's Market Basket is a one-of-a-kind collectible that showcases these unique characteristics: Stairstep Weaving style Narrow 1/4" weaves and 1/2" upsplints Open-weave bottom Braided leather trim strip Longaberger branded logo Two swinging handles Special message burn-in Tami's and Rachel's burn-in signatures Basketmaker initials and year created (2000)In addition to the burn-in signatures, Tami Longaberger signed this basket for me when I met her in person two years ago. This basket has been on display in my pet-free home. The only "wear" is on the bottom corners w the basket rested on the surface. The lid has a very shallow indentation approx. 1/4" in length that is only noticeable if you hold it up and look at it under a light. Free gift wrapping available. Bentley values this basket and lid at $300+.
