Longaberger Retired Pewter Chess Set 2001 This auction is for a complete mint condition retired 2001 exclusive Pewter Chess Set that has never been displayed or used. The Chess Set features solid pewter game pieces that feature the four-petal Woven Traditions motif design around the base of each piece. The King and the Queen feature the Longaberger logo. The Set features two player's sets which consist of 16 pieces each. One set has antique brass finish the opposing set has antique pewter finish. Each set has 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Bishops, 2 Knights, 2 Rooks, & 8 Pawns ranging in height from 1.5" to 2.75" tall, total of 32 pieces. The Chess Set comes packaged in a elegant storage box custom made, dark brown box featuring the Longaberger logo and velveteen-lined divided compartments for each playing pice. This compliments the 2001 Checkerboard Basket or any other checkerboard your family has. Available only March 1 - April 30, 2001. This originally retailed for $198 plus tax and shipping, in IL that would of cost $231.60. This is a retired Longaberger Collectible, the Bentley Guide lists it's AVG value at $207 and it's HI value at $227. Pay tribute to dear ol' Dad or the family chess player by surprising them with this champ Chess set. It's sure to make a great game even better!
