This is an absolutely stunning and rare piece.. What I believe to be a Chinese Export in solid 18kt Yellow Gold with a carved Art Nouveau (?) very artistic design that has been hand carved as you can see on the inside in some of the pictures. This beauty weighs a very nice 25 grams and is about 6 5/8 inch when locked into place . I wear a 7 inch bracelet and that is why I am parting with this beauty and because of some financial situations. I have had this for 35 years and bought it from a BYU student as I had a small jewelry store with vintage and new items and he was oriental and needed the money for school. I bought this one and another bangle that was also 18kt gold and he told me his father was a jeweler. Im not sure how old it is but it was not new when I bought it from him. This beautiful piece of art is 5/8ths inch wide and has a Good Luck symbol surrounded by hand carved and punched bamboo. The other side has a fantastic sun design in the middle and is surrounded by what looks to me to be a cross between a bird or an Oriental Flying Dragon design. I hope you can see that in the pictures. I tried to get good pictures so you can see exactly what you are bidding on. It has a few scratches that can be buffed out by a jeweler. Also in one spot at the top of the bracelet, right above the sun on the top has a small hairline crack that is 1/8th of an inch across and does not effect the integrity of this piece and is just mentioned for accuracy and does not distract from its elegance and I am sure that if it bothered you in anyway, a jeweler could fix it in a heart beat. Also, this use to have a safety chain as you might see the loops that are left above the opening that I would suggest getting it replaced because Im sure you would not want to take any chances of losing this master piece. All a jeweler would need is an old piece of chain from a small necklace or bracelet and could be just gold plated which would not be expensive just to make sure that it is secure and safe on your wrist. This did not have a safety chain when I bought it but seeings as how I am like a bull in a *China Closet* I had it added but broke the chain many years ago and did not ever get it replaced and luckily never lost the bracelet myself.. If you have any questions dont be afraid to ask and I will tell you as much as I know. On my silver charms, I give quite a bit of time to pay but as I mentioned before, because of some financial reasons I would like to be paid as soon as possible on my more expensive items if you could please. AT todays gold melt price this would be $810 in melt but surely this rare beauty is worth a lot more then melt.. I will consider shipping out of the USA on this piece but please ask me first as I do not know the cost and would need to speak to someone at the postal service. With Christmas just around the corner this would make a perfect gift for just about anyone as who would not love to receive a rare and wonderful piece of art that with a little care can last a lifetime to be passed down for generations to come.. A great investment piece that will only become more valuable through the years. Gold and silver is at a very low price now from what it was last year. Gold melt for 18 kt gold and it being 25 grams,last year at this time it was over $1000 melt so this is a good time to buy. I will also include free shipping and insurance. Well enough said.
