Has Two Axes Of Rotation For Each Coil This is an early Pacent Loose Coupler Assembly used to couple RF tuning coils. The mechanism consists of three polarized coil sockets mounted such that the outer two coils can be pivoted close or distant from the center coil. They can be rotated on a vertical axis or on a horizontal axis. The photos show both axes of coupling. Thumbnuts provide locks once a position is selected. The frame is made of metal while the coil sockets are Bakelite. Three honeycomb wound coils are supplied with this coupler. The assembly is mounted to a nicely finished mahogany base. The coils are marked as seen in the photos. Size is 8 ½" x 5 ½" x 5" The coils are 3 ¼" dia, 3 ½" dia, and 2 ½" dia Although t are a few places w the paint has chipped (see photos) t are no cracks, chips, or dings anyw on the metal or on the Bakelite parts. This makes a fine display piece in and 1920's collection, and can be used in a vintage receiver or crystal radio set. I make every attempt to describe items completely and accurately, and to show any flaws clearly in the photographs. Questions are invited and will be answered promptly.
