Lopez Taxco six-piece sterling tea service believed to date from the 1950s. The total weight of this service is 5832 grams give or take a gram or two. That is 187 Troy ounces of .925 silver. I listed this item, which belongs to a friend, a few months ago and it failed to meet its reserve, which I have now lowered. It's a very nice set, but my friend has got used to not having it and doesn't want the responsibilities of another service to maintain. So, someone will get a great deal! The Tray is also Sterling, measures about 29 inches by 18 inches and weighs in at 2840 g. Sorry about the misch-masch of measuring systems, but using grams for weight eliminates the Troy ounce confusion. 5" Teapot - 1006 g. T is a minor ding in the teapot: 4" covered sugar - 440 g. 4" waste bowl -- 220 g.
4" creamer - 320 g.8" coffee pot -- 1006 g.
The set is in very fine condition, with minimal scratching and nothing disfiguring. T is a speck of tarnish -- apparently from contact with something visible on the coffee pot above, in addition to the ding to the teapot mentioned at the outset. Those constitute the biggest problems I can see to this set, which is, in my humble opinion, exceedingly handsome and beautifully made. The buyer will add $80.00 for insured shipping & handling in the United States.
