Lord Nelson Centenary Bust A Priceless Piece of History and Art For your kind and thoughtful consideration is a truly rare and remarkable piece of historic memorabilia - a 1905 Trafalgar Centenary memorial bust of the great British hero, Lord Horatio Nelson! � This solid copper statue (on a dark wood plinth) made from copper melted from the original fittings of Nelson's flagships HMS Victory and HMS Foudroyant is unmistakably authentic, one of a series produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of both the great battle and the passing of Admiral Nelson. � Incredibly, you can actually read a front page story in the October 15th, 1905 edition of the San Francisco Call newspaper about these very same copper busts (pictured and described exactly in the article, a portion of which is shown in the clipping below) here , through the United States Library of Congress.
