In total, a set of 12 beautiful coins from Middle-earth. Sadly, The Shire Post is no longer making coins - so these are rather collectible. Really sharp set of 4 commemorative pennies made by the same ancient methods the Hobbits would have used to make coins, by the Shire Post (run by an SCA artisan in Arkansas), to tie in with the movies based on Professor J.R.R. Tolkien's master work The Lord of the Rings. Each coin comes from a different Shire year, 1404 through 1407, and honors a different tree that was important to the Hobbits - the Oak, the Willow, the Elm, and the Pine. The tree is featured on the front, along with elvish script that describes the coin as One Penny from the land of the Kuduk (the Elvish for Hobbits). The other side is a stylized rendering of the Four Farthings of the Shire. These are bright fresh new mint shiny bronze. You also get a bright shiny set of 4 Farthing coins - three of them in red brass and one in shiny brass. As a bonus I will include a Silver Farthing plus one of the Shire Post original 4 tree farthings in copper as well for as long as they last. These are quite tiny and delicate.
