Field Marshal Lord Roberts of Kandahar. FORTY-ONE YEARS IN INDIA From Sub-Altern to Commander-in-Chief, London, Richard Bentley & Son, 1897, stated Ninth Printing of February 3, 1897 , TWO VOLUMES, each bound in matching red leather in 3/4 style with gilt decoration and titling on spine, with many engravings and maps, 511 pp. & 522 pp. respectively, index at rear of Vol. II; each in VG condition with minor scuffing and edgewear typical of a very heavy set of books and very light occasional foxing to plates;; t.e.g., marbled endpapers, bookplate of Clement Moore Ogden inside front board (Odgen was great-great grandson of Clement Moore - author of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”); A HEAVY SET which will require additional shipping chargesc depending on destination; uncommon in this condition.
