DESCRIPTION: This is a STUPENDOUS sterling silver and tiger's eye bracelet that was handwrought Taxco, Mexico, after 1948, by renowned silver mastros, LOS BALLESTERO. Jalil Majul Ballesteros established LOS BALLESTEROS in Iguala in 1937. They moved to Taxco in the early 1940's and soon became one the largest and most successful silver tallers. This massive bracelet is masterfully craft ed in a bold and beautiful classical design ~ it is hinged on one side and has the clasp on the opposite side. It is made of heavy gauge sterling silver ~ t are bands of silver that border two rows of silver demi sps on top of silver circles ~ the front of the bracelet has a gorgeous golden tiger's eye cabochon that is in a raised bezel setting ~ the tiger's eye stone is amazing, when the bracelet moves, the stone has shimmering irridescent lines across the face of the stone (please see photos). The tiger's eye stone is accented at the top and bottom with silver wirework scrolls, beads and demi sps within silver circles. The clasp is tongue and box closure that works perfectly and closes with a crisp 'click'. This bracelet is very well made in a classic bold and beautiful design ~ it is an art-to-wear masterpiece ~ collector/heirloom quality ~ THE BEST! FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING! Buyer is responsible for insurance cost which is based on the final sales price ~ please see insurance rate schedule at the end of this listing.

SIZE : Inside circumference when closed is 7-1/2", inside diameter is 2-1/2", width in front is 1-3/4", width in back is 1-1/8", and weight is 99 grams.

CONDITION : Excellent vintage condition ~ no chips, cracks or breaks in tiger's eye stone ~ no dings/dents to the silverwork ~ no damage noted ~ just about PERFECT used condition!

HALLMARKS : "B (stylized Los Ballestero logo), TALLERES DE LOS BALLESTEROS, TAXCO, GRO, STERLING, 925, HECHO EN MEXICO, and the Eagle 12 assay mark". LOS BALLESTEROS and this identical hallmark (photo L-53.B) are shown on pages 97-98 in Bille Hougart's highly respected source book, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition). LOS BALLESTEROS used 6 different Eagle assay marks and the first and earliest one that they used was Eagle 12, verifying that this is an older piece.
