DESCRIPTION : You are bidding on a MAGNIFICENT sterling silver bracelet that was handwrought in Taxco, Mexico, after 1978, by silver maestros, LOS BALLESTEROS . Jalil Majul Ballesteros established LOS BALLESTEROS in 1937 ~ over time, the family business prospered and grew to be a very successful silver retailer. This bracelet is masterfully crafted in a magnificently classic design that has a wonderful art nouveau look. It consists of four very dimensional silver links that have a deeply chased design of intertwined stylized irises or lilies, more commonly known as a fleur de lis design ~ the background has niello which really makes the designs POP! The links are pin hinged internally within the four large silver sps that are between each fleur de lis link. The clasp is a tongue and box closure that works perfectly and closes with a crisp 'click' ~ t is a safety chain that can be detached on one end. This is a classically elegant and timeless TAXCO vintage bracelet ~ it is extremely well crafted, comfortable to wear and a joy to behold ~ a signed, vintage LOS BALLESTEROS ~ a must have for the serious collector of Taxco vintage silver! SIZE: Inside circumference when closed is 7-1/2", width is 1-3/8", and weight is 52 grams. CONDITION : Superior vintage condition ~ a couple of the silver sps have very teeny minor dings mostly on the back side of the bracelet w they don't show/also on the back side, you can see w the top and bottom of the sps connect in the middle/not damage it was made this way and evidence that it is indeed a handwrought piece (please see photos of the back of the bracelet) ~ no damage noted~ just about PERFECT! HALLMARKS : "TALLERES DE LOS BALLESTEROS, B (stylized), HECHO EN MEXICO, 925" and the Eagle 42 assay mark. LOS BALLESTEROS is shown on page 97 of Bille Hougart's highly respected source book, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition).
