Lot of 13 Real Photo PostcardsThis grouping of 13 cards is from the Theodore Strothman collection. I have more of this collection listed this week.I am not able to identify all of these cards, such as their locations and whatnot.Six of the cards are caption signed Leon, which I assume to be the photographer. One of these cards is caption dated 1912. I think all of the postcards in this grouping date to around the same time. The captions on the Leon cards are: Homeward Bounded (shows soldiers dressed in white uniforms on a train flatbed); Second ? Camp (second word is illegible to me, with a magnifying loupe, I noticed that the men have weapons); Heavily Guarded Train; Unloading Field Pieces; Marines on Docks; and Signalmen U.S.S. Colorado (four men in front of a tent). There is a photo of a building identified on front as Escuela La Madrid, which I believe to be in the Philippines. There is another RPPC captioned "Looking Across Bridge Held by Rebels" - not sure the location, probably Moro Rebellion in Philippines, but maybe Mexican Revolution. There are three Strothman Photos, they are: Old Mission, San Diego; Hotel Cornado (I believe located in San Diego); and Submarines at Home, San Diego. One terribly faded photo has a pen written identification on the bottom right that reads "Beach at Moana Hotel" which I believe to be in Hawaii. read more
