Offered here is a group pf 15, antique, Optometrist's trial lenses from a travelling test kit made by Julius King Optical Co in 1901. I have the original case the lenses came in but it is damaged so I am selling the lenses in groups. Julius King was a pioneer in the optical business. He was the founder of the first optometry school, setting up classes in 1887 for druggists, jewelers, sales persons and watchmakers. In 1908 he was the first person to promote and supply Safety Glasses. All of these lenses are in excellent condition which is remarkable because they are over 110 years old. They are great for jewelry, altered art, photo frames or Steampunk projects and they are a part of history which makes them even more interesting. Of the 15 lenses, 5 are fully clear without any frosted edging, 5 have vertical frosted edges and 5 have horizontal frosted edges.
