LOT OF 6 1970s Royal Copenhagen Christmas Plates 1971, 1972, 1974 - 1977 All Designed By Kaj Lange Except 1976 Designed By Sven Vestergaard . 1971 Hare In Winter - Depicts a hare sitting in the snowclad winter- landscape. The hare is one of the most common mammals, living wild, in Denmark. 1972 In The Desert - Osterland - Depicts three men riding their camels through the desert. This motif brings to mind the old narratives from the Bible. At the same time, it is also a scene from the present day, as artist Kaj Lange found the motif on one of his journeys. This unchanging scenery tells much about the way in which traditions have withstood the impacts of technical developments. Today, as hundreds of years ago, traffic still depends on animals moving along routes as old as Man himself. 1974 Winter Twilight - Depicts a winter landscape in twilight, with an owl, a night animal, sitting on a branch in the foreground of the plate, and in the background, the full moon is shining.
