Up for auction from a local estate, is this beautiful and vintage pair of oval shaped metal, and convex/bubble glass picture frames featuring two ladies. Circa early 1900s.
Both picture frames are in used, but good condition for their age. Both picture frames have a lightly shaped, convex/bubble glass covering, with no cracks or chips on either pieces. T is however just minimal wear on each piece of glass, with one of the pieces having just a tiny nick near the top of the frame. It is barely noticeable. The frames are composed of a brass or gold-tone metal, which is designed in a gilded and floral/ribbon art motif. The backsides of the frames are decorated with brown colored felt backings. The brown felt backside areas on each piece are slightly worn from age/usage. The wear areas on the felt are located near the top areas of the frames. It does not hinder the function or beauty of the pieces. (Also see images below.) The matting areas around the cameo pictures are decorated in a beautiful scroll, and floral felt material. It is a peach colored felt material with rose colored accents. The picture frames measure just over 5-1/2 inches in length, over 3-3/4 inches in width, and 1/2 of an inch in thickness each. The pictures inside the frames measure nearly 2-3/4 inches in length, and over 1-1/2 inches in width each. Both pieces have metal hooks on the backsides of them for hanging on a wall, if so desired. T are no manufacturer markings on either frame. These vintage picture frames were purchased from a local estate auction, and would make a terrific addition to any collection, display or decor.
