Oil Drums - 1/48 ~ O-Scale Model Resin Details ~ Pik-A-Color FREE US Parcel Post ™ Shipping These scale miniature 55 Gallon Drums will enhance that industrial layout or diorama... unlike the spun-aluminum O-scale drums, these actually have, you know ... some actual detail! Like the caps, the actual thickness rims, the correct roll-off on the rib pressings, not a sharp-cut angle...Don't play with kid's toys... if you're out there painting and weathering details like these ... you may as well use the most accurate dead-real drums you can find, and at a price compared to the other guys'... that's a No-Brainer. Period. OK time for my Lionel O-scale rant: For some odd reason, O scale oil drums in the hobby are like a commodity with the O scale fellas. For some awful reason, probably greed... O-scale commands premium prices, which is ridiculous considering how most of the offerings in these larger scales are frankly ..."approximations" ... developed and produced to capitalize on people's sentimentality for those giant, hideously unfaithful models they remembered from their past. This artificially induced desirability reflects in the pricing of O scale items being out-of-line with other scales after costing adjustments. O scale "anything" is usually of-the charts in price. Result: The typical cost to buy about 6 of these little drums is around $8 - $9 by the time you add up the shipping. Or, if you like, you may select a decently scaled, realistic-looking drum and build it as a kit. Tichy or Grandt will sell you perhaps 8 for like 7 bux if you have the time to sit around building them from the styrene parts. Add up how many of those ubiquitous oil barrels you could use across your layout and dioramas and well... you get the point. Most O-scale is somewhat overpriced for what it is already... why charge a mortgage to some guy for some oil drum details for his hobby?These are sold as a lot to make sure you buy enough for your entire project or wargame once . At a price nobody can beat and with realism nobody can touch or even seems to realize exists. And let me remind you again that these oil drums actually have some detail, they're not just spun alum. cylinders.These are available in any standard color you choose... your choice. These are: Pure White Purple Baby Blue Pink Red Chick Pink Deep Blue Lavender Green Lime Green Deep Purple Midnight Blue Yellow Grey Clay Forest Green Blue Black Dark Red Lemon-Orange Beige Brown Orange Aqua Again, like few others.... Our items are bubble-free because they're pressurecast in ultra-strong molds at 75psi to completely eliminate bubbles. We're not like your usual eBay Resin Dealers. I don't tolerate any waves or the usual " bondoburger " look you see in most resin parts for sale. I use only the best ultra high viscosity resins, molding compounds, UV deterrent additives and resin-tint lines I can find and I try them all. We don't use the hobby "Alumilite ™ " and that ironically-titled "Expert's Choice ™ " stuff that flows like syrup and turns to yellowed peanut-brittle in 3 years you see all over eBay... or worse, the No-Name stuff. Our resins and tints are ultra vivid and solid from the A#1 brand in the business. Not milky or "see-thru" like some of the other fellas' stuff you may see around. I take my masters and production quality to extremes most people tell me they've never ever seen.
