Lot of 330 4x5 negatives taken by a commercial photographer in the Chicago area during the mid-1950s. About 1/3rd of them were taken for the North Shore Architects Association and show floor plans, elevations, interiors and exteriors done by Chicagoland designers and achitects during the Eames Era. Another third or so are of conventions--Mars Candy, Green Giant and some others. The rest are of general interest--sights and scenes in the upper mid-west, some family shots. They are virtually all black and white with only a couple slides and a handful of color negatives. They are all in Good to Excellent in condition, but would require routine cleaning for the best possible print. There is no mildew, deterioration or reticulation. Some images here show a pattern behind them that is a result of using rice paper as the background to shoot them against--it's not reticulation. This pattern does not appear in the actual slide or negative. We do our best to describe items as they are--good, bad or indifferent. Ratings would be Excellent = 95-100% of new; Very Good 89 - 94% of new; Good 85 - 88% of New; Average 79 - 84% of new and poor is everything else.
