Lot #45 is for 34 Reading RR Caboose Photos by F. Trittenbach, Engine numbers can be seen by using the zoom button. (some may be duplicate photos) Up for auction is a set of vintage black and white railroad caboose photographs. I believe these to be original, certainly the photographic paper is older and heavier. They have never been photographed or copied while they were under my care or my father in laws, except for a very small number that were used in a book about Forrest’s photographic work of the Reading Railroad. Nearly every photograph was taken by Forrest Trittenbach, an avid railroader and photographer. Forrest was a conductor for the Reading Railroad and it was in this capacity that he had access to many places and events the average person could not go and see. Forrest also took a number of photographs of unique and different things he came across, including wrecks, accidents, and locomotives with different paint schemes. Mr. Trittenbach was photographing trains throughout the 1930s to the 1970s, and this lot was part of his collection. I was told that the majority of his railroad photograph collection was stolen from his home some years ago. These photographs were purchased legitimately by my father-in-law, Paul Kuehner of Garrigues House, Publishers. Paul was an avid railroad collector as well as a book publisher who read more
