Lot of Four Large 19th Century Bowie Knives. Includes a heavy Bowie with a stag handle, brass guard and a long 10 ¾" clipped-point blade. The blade bears no maker's marks but it is certainly an interesting example. The lot also includes a Joseph Allen & Sons Bowie with stag handle and home-made sheath. The blade is marked "NON-XLL". The blade has some shallow surface pitting but is in otherwise very good condition. Another Joseph Allen & Sons with an identically marked blade, is fitted with a simple nickel-silver guard and ivory handle. This example is sold with a rather crude brown leather scabbard. The lot is completed with a stag handled knife with a bright, unmarked 8 ¼" blade. It is lacking a scabbard but in excellent condition. From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg. Grade: 0, Service No.: 0
