Very interesting lot of (19) real photos (not the type produced for tourists) printed on glossy and matte finish paper, circa 1930s, of scenes in and about Nassau, Bahamas. We have categorized them by size, as follows: [2 x 3-1/2 ins.] Paradise Beach, Buildings in Nassau, another Nassau Street Scene, General Post Office, Government House, Paradise Island, another view Paradise Beach, Bay Street Nassau, Local Men in Small Skiff, Palm Tree, British Colonial Hotel from Nassau Harbor, another Street Scene in Nassau. [2-1/2 x 5 ins.] Coin Divers in Boats, Paradise Island Lighthouse, [3-1/2 x 3-1/2 ins.] Paradise Beach (duplicate of smaller photo), Nassau Street Scene with Man Driving Horse Cart in Foreground. [6-1/4 x 9 ins.] Paradise Beach, City of Nassau Viewed from Ship in Harbor, [7 x 9 ins.] Native Sloop Anchored off British Colonial Hotel. We were told by the former owner that these photos were taken in the 1930s by an advanced amatuer photographer from New York City, who was an unnamed executive of the now defunct Kinney Shoe Company. Would make a marvelous display for home, office, hotel, restaurant or pub. Overall condition is very good, but all of the photos have curled slightly, which could be corrected easily with professional mounting. *************************************************************************************We have been in the paper ephemera business since 1953 and are members of both the Manuscript Society and Ephemera Societies of the U.S. and U.K., as well as numerous other collector organizations.
