Lot of Two Vintage Sterling Silver Pieces, Possibly Candy Dishes with Bonus! These two items are part of the sterling silver collection my parents inherited from my grandmother and aunt. Unsure of the exact age, they have been in storage for over 25 years. One piece is a handled dish w/ball feet, intricate engraving on handle, cut-out design. Has sterling marking on bottom, along with #8217 and 2 other unidentified makers marks. Measures approximately 5 1/4" across, 1 1/2" high. The second piece is a small bowl with glass liner. Silver portion is entirely a cut-out pattern, and is slightly out-of-round. Sterling engraving on bottom, with small letters lightly scratched below sterling mark. Measures approximately 4 3/4" across, 1 1/2" high. Both pieces need cleaning, and have small scratches from use but are otherwise in good vintage condition. As a bonus I am also including a sterling ashtray, not pictured, engraved 68 MWD 93, (1868-1893) for a 25th anniversary of some kind. The initials weren't familiar to us, not sure which relative this belonged to. This ashtray does have a few dark dots, not sure if those can be removed, which is why I'm just considering this a bonus piece. The ashtray alone weighs 3 ounces, the other two pieces weigh 5.20 ounces (without the glass liner.) I would imagine that these pieces have some value as scrap but are nice ornamental pieces as well.
