Up for auction are MAD comics #41, #42, #43, and #44 from 1958 and 1959. All four issues highlight the art work of Kelly Freas who was an early and prolific cover artist for MAD. All four comics are all in at least VERY GOOD condition as follows: #41 - The covers are bright and retain some gloss. T is some soiling on the left edge. I don't see any rips or tears with the exception of an approximately 1 1/2 inch split at the bottom of the spine. Interior pages are clean and complete and show only modest yellowing with age. The magazine lies flat. #42 - The front cover shows a little more wear than the others with some dimpling, mild soiling and the number "15" written near the right edge. The back cover looks pretty good with just a little soiling and some stress creases near the spine. I don't see any rips or tears. The spine and staples are intact with no splitting or rusting. Interior pages are clean and complete and show only modest yellowing with age. The magazine lies flat. #43 - The covers are bright and retain some gloss. The front cover has a crease running from top to bottom about two inches from the left edge although it is not too noticeable. T is also a 1/2 inch tear on the right edge.
