Up for auction is this lot of 43 vintage advertising trade cards. The largest one measures 6 1/4 by 4 7/8 inches. Advertising includes: Hires Root Beer, Newboy Plug Tobacco, Hovey's Starch, Soller & Co. Shoes, Jas. S. Kirk & Co. Soaps, Libby, McNeill & Libby Corned Beef (Uncle Sam), Soapine (3 different), Kenton Baking Powder, Ayers Ague Cure, Dr. Jayne's Expectorant (2 different), Horseford's Acid Phosphate, Gillett Magic Yeast, J. & P. Coats Thread (2 different), Moore's Lozenges (torn corner), Diamond Dye (2 different - larger card has vertical crease at middle), Providence Furniture, Freeman Clothier, Wheeler and Wilson Sewing Machines, Wistar's Balsam, Daily Recorder, Palaise Royal (1881), New Home Sewing Machine, Ayer's Pectoral, Sam Harris Clothing, J. C. Hall Scarves (Edna written in pencil on the back), Round Oak Stoves (Polar Bears - trimmed), Brown's Bitters, Wilder Clothing, Davis Sewing Machine, Shapless Brothers Dry Goods, Kraughran & Co., McLaughlin Coffee, Chicago Carpet Co., Van Haagen's Soap. Condition, except as noted, is good as shown with some scuffing and wear; a few have corner creasing as pictured. For most items, we ship by USPS First Class or Priority Mail and will combine shipments to save costs. If shipping cost is not specified in our ad, we will need your address/zip code to calculate the total. Buyer pays actual shipping costs plus insurance and/or delivery confirmation and any specialty items (padded envelope, etc.). We pay for bubble wrap and packing. We do not charge any handling fee. For some items, such as postcards, a flat fee may be assessed to cover envelope and first class postage for ease in listing and processing. Not responsible for lost or damaged items; we recommend insurance for your protection. We will be happy to accommodate special shipping requests (within reason) to save you costs. However, any damage that may result is your responsibility. International purchases are usually shipped Airmail Letter Post unless otherwise requested. Of course, international shipping is at a higher rate. Iowa residents must pay 5% sales tax. Bid with confidence! We offer 100% refund of your costs (including shipping/insurance) for items mistakenly or inaccurately described. Refund of actual purchase price is offered for other situations.
