We are clearing the estate of Bob Tennant, a U.S. Navy veteran who passed away a year ago at the age of 86. Bob saved most of his military wear as well as pieces that belonged to his father in WWI. Up for auction from that estate is a lot of Japanese WWII goodies. Included are the following: --A very thin cotton (like a handkerchief) meatball flag measuring 13"x16" with threads on 2 corners for tying. It has lots of age stains, a couple of rust spots and some odor from age, so needs a good clean. --POW card in excellent condition that has been filled out and stamped. Reads: Name: Bob F. Paradise (signed by him), Nationality: American, Rank: Private 1st Class, Camp: Taiwan. To: Rev. E. J. Flanagan, Boys Town, Nebraska USA. Flip side reads: Imperial Japanese Army...I am interned in Taiwan, my health is usual, I am working for exercise, Please see that your health is taken care of, My love to you, signed Bob F. Paradise. -- Pack of Japanese or Taiwanese cigarettes, unused in the cellophane/original box has some yellowed tape on it. --A Japanese Guide to American Military Armory. This consists of 2 paper posters measuring 20"x28". Several tears, lots of creasing and stains. These come from a smoke-free environment.
