Starbucks "New York" AKA “Central Park” (2012) This Card is New York's third (3rd) Starbucks Card, focusing on Central Park in the heart of Manhattan Island. It shows the pathways, greenery and water of the park with the city skyscrapers in the background. Central Park is a public park at the center of Manhattan in New York City. The park initially opened in 1857, on 843 acres of city-owned land. In 1858, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux won a design competition to improve and expand the park with a plan they entitled the Greensward Plan . Construction began the same year, continued during the American Civil War, and was completed in 1873. Starbucks "Florida" AKA “Beaches” (2012) "Beaches" is the second Florida Starbucks Card, released May 1st, 2012, part of a mass city and state Card release. Flip-flops are the main focus of this design, and the sandy beach shows two pairs in the shade of a palm tree. The beaches of Florida are a major destination for many travelers, especially from the colder North and Europe. The sugary sand and warm waters attract spring breakers, and this Card would be the perfect reminder of a good time at the beach.
