Item: Lot of (8) Vintage Tourist/SightSeeing Felt Pennants Description: For sale is a (8) piece lot of vintage touristy sightseeing felt pennants all from the New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania area. They are all at least 35 years old and some are 40+ years old. I will number them 1-8 and describe each. I am relying on my photos to best describe their condition. 1: BUSHKILL FALLS “The Niagara of Pennsylvania” Pennant . Measures 23” long. Pennant is in EXCELLENT condition. Its only flaw would be that the red color probably faded a bit over the years and it is missing the ties. It is still quite stiff and not worn out. Has only 2 mini tack holes from when hung up. On a scale of 1 – 10 (ten being MINT), I would rate this one a solid 7.5. 2: MORRIS COUNTY CENTRAL RAILROAD, Newfoundland, N.J. Pennant . Bright graphics of a historical locomotive train ride sightseeing tour that used to be offered. Pennant measures 25” long. Has all 4 ties. Only a few tiny tack holes. Rated a 8.5 in condition. 3: VALLEY RAILROAD Steamtrain & Riverboat, Essex, Connecticut Pennant .. This pennant has bright graphics, nice and stiff and not worn out. Has 2 ties. Measures 24” long. Two tack holes only. Rated a 8.5. 4: FAIRY TALE FOREST, Oak Ridge, N.J. Pennant . A famous sightseeing place in North New Jersey that is now out of business. It was a real big memory for many kids that went there. Was open for MANY MANY years. This pennant measures 24” long. Has 2 ties and even has original tag still on it!! Few tack holes, couple tiny creases at tip. Colors are bright and vibrant. This is a great pennant that is rated a 8 in condition. Definetly a keepsake especially for anyone that visited this place back in the day! 5: SPACE FARMS Zoo and Museum, Sussex, N.J. Pennant . Dated 1977. Just like Fairy Tale Forest, Space Farms is another awesome sightseeing place that had been there forever way up in North New Jersey. The pennant measures 24”. Very cool graphics of the animals and an antique car. Has both its ties. Two tack holes only. Tiny crease at tip. Excellent Condition and still very stiff. Rated a 8.5 easily. 6: POCONO MTS. P.A. Pennant. Probably this is the oldest of the whole lot. I think this pennant is from the 1960’s or early 70’s at the latest. It is very stiff, excellent graphic of an Indian Chief. Bright colors. Pennant measures 26” long! 2 tack holes. One small hole towards the tip. ZERO stains. No creases . Rated a 8 only because of the small hole or otherwise a solid 9.5. 7: PHILADELPHIA, P.A. w/City Hall Tower, Betsy Ross House & Independence Hall Pennant. Measures 24” long. Has the two ties, only 2 tack holes. Lots of color and graphics. Not worn out at all, still stiff and free of any stains or tears. Rated a 8.5 easily. 8: STATUE OF LIBERTY Pennant . Measures 29” LONG!! This is another very old one from the early 1970’s for sure. On the reverse side is even the company’s name (SUBLIME PENNANTS) who made this pennant and it says COLLECTORS SERIES #L-32-32 . Pretty Cool! It does have 2 small paint spots smaller than a dime and they are side/side in the first panel photo of Lady Liberty. There is also some discoloration spots on both sides plus a decent amount of creases. Rated at a 5 in condition. I won’t be charging for this pennant. I’ll just throw it in for free.
