LOT NETSUKE KATABORI SCULPTURES Please scroll to bottom of the page for additional photos This auction is for a stunning set of hand carved Netsuke figurines. These figurines are Katabori or "sculpture Netsuke". This is the most common style. They are compact and three dimensional figures. Seven of the eight pieces are character signed. We have:1. A boy with a cobra coiled around him (unsigned) It measures approximately: 1 & 1/2 inches high by 1 & 1/2 inches across. 2. A dragon (not to sure if this is Netsuke-no holes) He measures approximately: 2 inches high by 3 inches across 3. A man on top of another mans back (looks like a turtle) It measures approximately: 1 & 3/4 inches high by 1 & 1/2 inches across. 4. A boy laying down with a drum as his pillow, It measures approximately: 1 & 1/2 inches high by 1 & 3/4 inches long. 5. A Shisa lion with a cub, It measures approximately: 1 & 3/4 inches high by 2 inches long. 6. A boy with a smaller boy in a large basket, it measures approximately: 1 & 1/2 inches high by 2 inches across by 1 & 3/4 inches long. 7. A boy riding or harnessing a crane bird. It measures approximately: 2 inches high by 1 & 3/4 inches across. 8. A boy riding atop a swan, it measures approximately: 1 & 1/2 inches high by 2 inches across.
