LOT NETSUKE KATABORI SCULPTURES Please scroll to bottom of the page for additional photos This auction is for a stunning set of hand carved Netsuke figurines. These figurines are Katabori or "sculpture Netsuke".This is the most common style. They are compact and three dimensional figures. All except one have been partially hand colored (painted).Seven of the eight pieces are character signed. We have:1. An old man with a piglet. It measures approximately: 2 inches high by 1 & 1/2 inches across. 2. An old man with a fan smoking a pipe. He measures approximately: 2 inches high by 1 inch across 3. A man with a banner. It measures approximately: 2 inches high by 1 & 1/2 inches across. 4. A man with a dragon head staff and a crane at his feet. It measures approximately: 2 inches high by 1 inch across. 5. A man with a head mask on his shoulder. It measures approximately: 2 inches high by 1inches across. 6. A man with a large turtle on his back (turtles head looks like another person) it measures approximately: 1 & 3/4 inches high by 1 &1/2 inches across. 7. A man with a sack over his shoulder and a bird on a leash. It measures approximately: 2 inches high by 1 & 1/2 inches across. 8. A man with a pot of tea at his feet.
