From an old farm auction in southern Minnesota comes this six pound box of quilt work: cut pieces, unfinished tops, and old quilting magazines. I am not a quilter so I don't know the name of the patterns pieced , so I took a lot of pictures. The largest piece is an unfinished quilt top in pink, white and tiny hexagons of colorful vintage prints. It measures about 88 inches by 36 inches. T are two more long sections that match. Next largest is the white and light green piece, w the green creates linked rings. Set in these rings are tiny triangles of vintage prints. I believe from an old magazine in the box this is "Indian Wedding Ring." T are also many completed circles made up of patchwork pieces--like vintage print flowers (these may be pieces of a pattern called "Dresden Plate"). T are well over a hundred cut hexagons, and likely as many cut triangles and squares as well as many pieces of fabric at least a square foot each. Please write with questions; I am struggling to describe this right since I'm not a quilter. What is utterly charming to me is the fabric, all the cheerful vintage prints. The quilting magazines may have the patterns she was working on (I'm pretty sure about Indian Wedding Quilt). They seem to be parts of magazines--pages with patterns on them. The dates I can find are from Grandmother Clark's Patchwork Quilt Designs 1932; Country Gentleman 1935; and Woman's World, March 1932. On my kitchen scale the fabric in a cardboard box weighs about 6 pounds. A treasure trove for the quilter or collector of vintage quilts and fabric.
