Lot of two (2) vintage TACA Airlines enameled pins from Mexico. TACA has since replaced this parrot logo with a newer one and is no longer in existence in Mexico (see history below). PLEASE NOTE! The pics on the white background have some glare from lighting apparent on the pins, they are not chips in the enamel! One pin does have a chip in the enamel and it is noted in the description below. It is best viewed in the pic with the green background. One of the pins attaches with a standard pin as you can see in the photos. There are no markings on the back and it is in excelllent condition. The other has a round back that screws on and was probably used through the buttonhole of a shirt. It is marked on the back- "Productos "Arco" Mexico.D.F Lopez 25". It has a chip in the enamel above the tail of the eagle. They both have very vibrant colors and are nicely detailed. They both measure 3/4" by 1/2". The value of these pins is in the airline history (see below). TACA International Airlines was founded in 1931 and this year (2013) will be no longer. The AviancaTaca Group has announced that all it's subsidiaries will operate under the name of Avianca starting in 2013.
