4 LOUIS CARDIN ENAMEL ON COPPER PAINTINGS 4 SEASONS

This auction is for four (4) original enamel on copper paintings by the famous artist Louis Cardin. Each painting features one of the four seasons Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. They are all signed by the artist and dated 1982, and each is certified on the back by the Collectors Guild in New York with the name of the painting.

Louis Cardin (born 1931) is a contemporary French artist who creates enamel paintings on copper. He was a student of the famous Parisian artist, Andre LHote. Cardins art features an impressionism style with jewel-like accents created by the enameling process.

Each painting is individually created so no two can ever be exactly the same. The signature of the artist and date were added before the last firing of the enamel.

All four paintings are in excellent condition. They have classic gold matching frames.

The exposed painting measures 7-1/2 inches wide by 9-1/2 inches high; they have a small linen fabric matting. The frames measures 12-1/2 inches by 14-1/2 inches (depending on the which way the picture is framed as two of the paintings are done in portrait layout while the other two are in landscape.

The four paintings are named in French after the four seasons. They include:

Spring Le Printemps depicts a mother with a red umbrella watching her two children pick flowers

Summer Lt - depicts a girl with a white hat waving to sailboats with sea gulls flying above her

Fall Lautomne depicts a boy and girl pushing a sailboat with a stick; red fall tree is predominant in the center

Winter Lhiver depicts two children building a snowman while the snow falls heavily around them (this is my favorite!)

You will not be disappointed with the quality of these exceptional works of art! The enameling is so nicely done and each painting has such a unique and distinctive look. Its a great set of paintings to add to any room.
