This Louis C Tiffany Furnaces Inc, Standing Ashtray, circa early 1920's I believe, hallmarked as seen in picture #2, has the Tiffany Favriele Scrolling Mark and the number 251. It stands 28 inches tall and weighs approximately 4.5 pounds. The heavy crystal glass ashtray pictured in picture #1 is included in the auction. The crystal glass ashtray is some 50 years old and not in perfect condition. Note in picture #7 some sort of repair which seems professionally done a long time ago. Why it was done and what might have been there, I do not know. What I do know is that there is a rattle in that upper top portion where the repair was done, like some loose metal part or whatever. This standing ashtray has never been cleaned or even dusted by me in the more than 45 years that I've oned it. It has been more or less stored for the 45 years. I could not say if its ever been cleaned. I purchased it from a antique dealer at auction in Midtown Manhattan. The green seen in the last picture, the base, seems to be some sort of porcelean paint or whatever, it is not aging marks. I know absolutely nothing about the history of this item since I am not a collector. I just bought this piece since the price was right at the time for a Tiffany item. I have recently moved and just do not want to store it again. For its age, the standing ashtray is in good condition, just the discoloration or whatever as seen in the pictures. I have not attempted to having it professionally polished, its as I bought it. I am willing to make more photos available upon request.
