We offer for auction a very rare Louis Vuitton Trunk that houses a traveling writing desk & filing cabinet. The trunk measures approx. 37" high x 18" X 16" & it is a very heavy 65lbs! The trunk is in near mint condition, no digs, dents, rips, just a few minor surface scratches inside & out. The handles & pulls are complete, this desk has had very little use. The desk folds into the door, it is made from wood & has a leather surface. T is only one small flaw to this magnificent trunk. Below the desk is a support arm which hangs down at an approximate 30 degree angle , this slides into a locking bracket on the legs cross stay, this locking mechanism is in the locked position. This is just a brass bolt that moves up & down, it is not a key lock, I think this would be very easy to unlock, but I am afraid the buyer will have to fix this problem. (Please look at close-up photos.) This is a rare opportunity to get a custom made rarity from the 1930's. The original owner's name is painted in red on the lid, this can be removed, but we suggest not. This trunk has provenance, but we do not wish to use this as a selling tool, please do not ask the name. Please e-mail any questions. We can e-mail back any additional photos, if required. This trunk is guaranteed original & can be returned if not as described. Buyer to pay shipping, this could be a little costly, please consider this before bidding.
