Excellent, outstanding condition, no damage. No nicks, chips, cracks, or repairs, no stains, no visible scratches or wear. One of the nicest examples of this type of antique pottery child's plate you will find. This is pottery, not porcelain, and t is appropriate small uniform crazing, or crackle, no glaze breaks. It measures 7-7/8 inches diameter, printed English Staffordshire Monochrome Blue and White Transfer Ware and an aesthetic style alphabet border. The art work is unsigned, but is unmistakably in the style of Louis Wain. Godden's mark 86 blue printed Allerton's with Crown and England, page 30 of the Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks. The mark is shown in this reference as circa 1890, the mark used from 1890-1912.
