LOVELY ANTIQUE/VINTAGE AMERICAN COMPOSITION DOLL - KNOWN AS 'NANCY LEE' MARKED R & B (ARRANBEE) - 18 INCHES This auction is for the lovely American composition doll shown. I have been told that she is called Nancy Lee. She dates from around the 1930/40's and is in excellent condition for a composition doll of this era. She has her original auburn human hair wig, which is long and very full, with a short fringe. Her eyes are brown, which sadly have crystallised as is a common occurance with these dolls, and it looks as though a previous owner has tried to enhance them with oil, which has darkened with time. The eyelids have no damage, and all of the original eyelashes are present. As with all of these dolls, the composition shows some very slight crazing but this is very fine and very hard to see without close inspection, but there are no cracks or lifting of the composition. Her composition is a good colour with no fading, and she has beautiful rosy cheeks and her lips are a pretty coral shade, and all original with no touch-up.Her body is very good condition, with minimal very fine crazing and slight loss of paint at the joints, and on her bottom. There is no damage to the composition. Her arms and legs are in excellent condition, with no damage to the fingers or toes, and she still has the original blush on her knees. . Her stringing
