You are invited to bid on this interesting antique Whist Marker. It is made of brass. The rim has numbers 1 to 0 on it and can be turned. In the middle is a raied pointing hand. When the rim is turned the hand can be made to point at different numbers. It is used to keep a track of scores in the card game Short Whist. The back of the marker bears the registration mark for 1860. It bears no maker's mark, but could have been produced for Goodall or De La Rue. The marker measures 3.5cm across by approximately 1cm deep. It is in good condition, but could do with a good polish. A nice antique playing card related item.
