LOVELY ANTIQUE GOLD ELIZABETH WITCH'S HEART FOB c1810 Antique English, solid 15 or 18 carat gold (tests) fob, beautifully crafted featuring entwined snakes around a carved bloodstone witch's heart, the base set with a fine quality carnelian seal engraved 'Elizabeth' in reverse. The bezel has raised lettering but I can't work out what is says.A very unusual and highly collectable fob - ideal for any chain or charm bracelet too! CONDITION : All original and very, very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. No damage. Possibly a bezel /glass missing from the back of the heart. DEFECTS : None. DATE/MARKS : Around 1820/30. Not marked. DIMENSIONS : 25.2 mm tall, base 19.8 x 16.7 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter. WEIGHT : Approx. 8.4 grams. our other auctions.
