Lovely Antique Oak with Gesso Victorian Picture Frame

This large Victorian, wooden (we think oak) picture frame with two strips of gesso trim contains a charming vintage country print of a young boy and girl getting a drink at the well. The frame's outside dimensions are 35 inches by 21.5 inches. The inside (opening) is 27.75 inches by 13.5 inches. Each strip of gesso is approximately one (1) inch wide. The outer gesso strip has a swirling appearance with small roses scattered about. The inner gesso strip has a border of small vertical lines carved into it; the main section has a repeating ball-and-leaf decoration (which probably has an actual name, but unfortunately we don't know what it is). CONDITION: The frame is in excellent condition for an item of its age. The gesso has a few small chips out of it and the wood has the type of age scratches that are typical for a frame this old. The gesso work can easily be repaired but we will leave such adjustments to the discretion of the new owner. The vintage print is in virtually mint condition. We will always, to the best of our ability, note any defects we find in the items we list. This item comes from a smoke-free home. PAYPAL, checks, or money orders are accepted. Checks must be allowed time to clear before item will be shipped. Insurance will be added if the buyer wishes. Seller will not be responsible for any damaged shipments or shipments that are not received if insurance is not taken.
