LOVELY ANTIQUE SCOTTISH SILVER SWORD THISTLE PIN N/RES A lovely antique Scottish/English, solid sterling silver pin; beautifully modelled as a Scottish basket-hilt sword, with hand engraved decoration, applied thistle-shaped embellishment and set with citrine-coloured glass 'stones'. A very attractive and hugely wearable, typically Scottish pin! CONDITION : All original and very good. Slight signs of wear, no damage. Wants a light clean. DEFECTS : None. DATE/MARKS : Around 1900/20. Stamped 'Sterling', maker's marks JC&S. DIMENSIONS : 2 inches long (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
