Lovely c1820s Ivory Silk Moire' Evening Gown For Study Album Album Album Album An original circa 1820's lady's ivory silk moire' evening gown, offered for study. Piped at the Sevigne decolletage and seams, with a two dart front, gigot sleeves with slit cuffs having tab closures, a blind back hook and eye closure with a curved seam back with pleats, a wide waistband above the natural waist line, a box pleated front and a directionally pleated back to the unlined skirt having a deep faced hem. The bodice has a sarcenet lining. Recently deaccessioned from a major museum with its accession number attached to the lining. A 34" bust, 26" waist, and 54" from shoulder to front hem. In sound as found condition, with wear at the neckline, some light underarm perspiration, some surface wear at the armscyes, some tiny scattered age flaws, wear to the crease of the hem, and scattered organic spots, all reflected in the reserve price for this study evening gown of the 1820's.
