From a Hollywood, CA., estate, this lovely vintage wall shelf is offered. The cabinet measures approximately 19" X 30" X 7 1/2" deep and dates c1930s. The hardware and construction method suggest the the cabinet was built in either the United States or England. Black lacquer covers the entire piece and I am only able to determine that the material is hardwood. If American, it is likely constructed of rock maple. If English, the wood is probably elm. The cabinet is decorated in a Chinese motif with the design being composed of a paste hand applied. There is some loss to the paste but I have not found this unattractive 9see photos). The doors close with a snap and the original brass hangers are intact. This fine and lovely Chinoiserie wall shelf/cabinet is in nice original condition and is offered without reserve.
