PRESENTING A LOVELY EARLY 1800s PRIMITIVE PENNSYLVANIA WINDOW BENCH. It is an original early Bucks County, Pennsylvania piece, dating to the early 1800s. In sturdy condition, this wonderful old bench features its original grain paint & hand decorated Penn Dutch details. This was used in an alcove window area of an early 1700s house up as a window seat. T is a beautiful, aged surface with rounded & worn edges, only father time could do. The wood is old growth, centuries old hard Pine. Beaded edges are done by hand, as is the Tongue-In-Groove joinery construction. Pane- In-Frame sides have the early paint also. Original Cast Iron butt hinges are mortised in to the top, which opens to reveal a handy storage area. Measures 38 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 17.5 inches high to the seat top 7 20.5 inches high overall. Interior is 6 inches deep.
