LOVELY EARLY 1900s SWISS EMBROIDERED CHRISTENING GOWN Please note! ALL postage costs/Shipping costs are given below this description. Please be sure to choose the correct one for your location. Most of my items, especially any Baby clothing, are antique and consequently will not be absolutely perfect {unless stated otherwise in the description} I go to great lengths to describe and photograph items as accurately as possible but I am not infallible and may miss the odd pinhole/wear spot or two! Dating from around 1920, this is a beautiful, completely hand stitched, almost sheer lawn/batiste gown that could easily be used as a Christening Gown although it was used originally as a day gown by the previous owner.The neckline is trimmed with handmade lace as are the sleeves which also have lace inserts down the centre length and an embroidered insert at the cuff.The bodice has inserts of handmade lace and embroidery both front and back and closes with ties at the neck and 3 tiny buttons.The long full skirt has a profusion of beautiful Swiss embroidery with a scalloped hemline and a ruffled frill of handmade lace.A truly beautiful gown for your baby or an antique doll or Teddy Bear.
