DESCRIPTION: Offered for auction is a lovely Haviland, Limoges oblong, floral sugar bowl on the star blank. The set is marked on the bottom with the green, underglazed Haviland France mark and a red, Haviland & Co. decorator mark for Bailey, Banks & Biddle, Philadelphia, dating the pieces to circa 1893-1931. The pieces are decorated with sprays of large pink roses and green leaves. There is fine gold accenting on the foot and upper rim of the sugar and heavy gold on the handles and finial of the lid. The porcelain is thin and translucent and rings beautifully.
CONDITION: The sugar bowl is in excellent with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. The gold is in excellent condition showing very little wear.
SIZE: The sugar bowl measures 3 7/8 inches tall to the top of the finial, 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 at its widest points excluding the handles, and 7 inches wide from handle to handle.
