This is a lovely vintage 14 kt & sterling necklace made by the Richards Jewelry Co. "H.M. Richards was founded at the turn of the 20th century in North Attleboro, Mass. The firm was a major manufacturer of jewelry, including gold & silver. Several trademarks were used by the firm, but the two common marks are "WRE" and "Symmetalic." The Symmetalic mark is found on higher quality silver pieces, often with a gold washing or plating. This type of jewelry is more scare & command higher prices." taken from Fred Rezazadeh book, "Collectible Silver Jewelry." page 36 This necklace is marked in two places, one place is is marked on a bar "sterling 14kt" & also maked on the clasp, "Symmetalic Sterling 14kt". This necklace is made for a smaller neck. It measures 13.25" around. The outer side of the necklace is gold & the inside space is silver. Looks absolutely lovely on!
